I am excited to announce the launch of my new blog! I have been wanting to get a new one for quite a while now, because blogger just doesn't do everything I want and I have been having issues lately. I wanted to share a couple images from this past weekend. Saturday, I met with the Coe family and got this shot of the 6 kids/grand kids in the family. Aren't they adorable? I most certainly think so! (More to come on them later) I loved all of the outfit colors in this shot, and the kids all had a personality of their own!

On Sunday, the colors outside were just breathtaking and the sun was enormous! This is the farm ground next to our home which my brother, Brandon, was drilling beans in.

I have very exciting news to share! I have been working on a web site design for Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Ohio and it has been completed! Upon entering the site you can read about the funeral home, the services it provides, current obituaries, leave your condolence on a specific obituary (even upload an image of that person), read about grief support in the area, and fill out a pre-planning form to be contacted. Also, if you are staying in the area there is a list on the "helpful links" page with different area amenities.

I have had a wonderful time working on this with Marcia (Owner & Funeral Director). She is a very special person to me and for her to love the new web site means the world to me!

Recently I got together with Kylee & Luke at their home to take some shots of their new little joy, Bentlee. Bentlee was a little angel the whole entire time, and would not go to sleep for anything! He obviously didn't want to miss out on the action. It was so hard for me to choose which shots I wanted to put on the blog, so needless to say this post is somewhat larger than most. I loved so many of them! I also took some family shots, and in these images you can see just how much these proud parents are in love with their little guy.

I am so glad for this upcoming warm weather. Although it is has been a little chilly the past couple of days here in northwestern Ohio, I look at these pictures (that have been sitting on my hard drive) and get warm feelings! There is just something about these beautiful colors that make me very happy inside. Not to mention the flowering of the trees the first couple of weeks.

Most people hate dandelions and want to mow over them right away, as I am saying "No, don't touch them yet, I need to take pictures." I really like a nice field of them, because they are so sweet and delicate. This was also Mylee's first encounter with dandelions, and she couldn't have been more cute. Her little mouth was as yellow as yellow could be from eating and sniffing them all day when I took these shots.

I really love this image for some reason; very serene feeling..

Last but not least my little pride and joy! :0) See what I mean about yellow mouth?

This is Zach, a Parkway High School senior this year. He plays baseball and football which you will see reflecting in his images. Zach was telling me during his shoot that he has been accepted in to OSU, which I thought was awesome!!!! Congrats, Zach, on your senior year and I wish you all the best! I would love to see you become a college Buckeye! (as I'm sure your parents would!)

This beauty, also one of my closest friends, is up for Miss Ohio in June! She recently won the title of Miss Mohican Valley which qualified her to participate in Miss Ohio. Wait.. Miss Ohio? YES, MISS OHIO!!! OH. MY. WORD. Dev, I am sooo excited for you! This is quite the accomplishment!

I recently took images of this little miracle, Raegan, who is the daughter of Jake and Ashley. This little girl is creeping up on 3 weeks of age and absolutely melts your heart! Some of the images were taken in Raegan's nursery, which was full of all things pink, and the rest of them in other parts of their home. I loved capturing images for this new little family, which they can treasure for years to come. Thank you all and enjoy!

We have this grain truck that is going to be sold in the upcoming auction in Willshire this weekend at Farmer's Grain and Ag. It has been in the family for quite some time, and with BA finishing up his junior year I wanted to get some of his senior pictures with the grain truck. Not to mention the light was perfect last night! It really made the old girl look great for portraits, and if you know our family you know that FORD is the only way.. hehe :D (Well, the guys anyway) Enjoy, and hopefully this beautiful weather will stick around!

I have received some beautiful sample albums in the mail and I wanted to share a few images of them!

First up is the layflat. This is a 4x6 mini album. 10 pages/20 sides.

This album has a wrap around canvas photo cover. You can also get a satin finish.

This is a layflat panoramic album with an acrylic cover! Simply amazing.

The album lays completely flat!

We have been getting all of this crazy snow lately, and I woke up the other morning to this beautiful scenery! I just LOVE the look of frost and snow clinging to tree limbs and other objects. I was excited when Erin asked me about doing images for their engagement and upcoming wedding. We have been wanting to take some in the snow, but with Alex's work schedule it just never seemed to work with the weather forecast. I am pleased to say, that we finally were able to get out and take some engagement images, although minus the snow. It was pretty foggy out but we managed to find some neat locations to shoot at! A while ago you may have seen the custom invitations and e-session that I did for this couple. Well, they got married, and we traveled to Columbus to shoot their wedding. You can absolutely see the love expressed between the two. It was so good to see all of our family together again. Sam and April, thank you for the honor to photograph your wedding, we wish the best for you!

Oh, April, if I would have collected a dollar for every time someone thought there was a strong resemblance between us, I would have been rich by the end of the night! People are still saying how much we look a like!

Not only do I do photography, but graphic design as well. Originally when I was going to college I hadn't planned on doing photography, I just loved to do it as a hobby. It is funny when everything falls into place, and you find yourself doing something you never dreamed of. A lot of photographers say they have dreamed of it their whole life. But I, on the other hand, have always loved art and design and decided to pursue a graphic design education. As I learned to work with the camera, learned how to change the settings, and achieved different image art, I fell in love. If I wouldn't have taken a couple photography courses in college, I may not have learned of this talent about myself. So, now that my main business is taking images, and those consist of the blogs main posts, I thought I had better share some of my other talents as well. These are some custom wedding invitations that I did for April, and her fiance, Sam. April and myself have a great love for orchids. I was so thrilled to incorporate this beautiful flower into the project.

Meet Tessa, she is a senior this year and came to me for some special portraits. Tessa was such a trooper on the yucky rainy October day. It was by far the chilliest of the season for shooting. Paige and I went out for the second part of her senior shoot Tuesday evening. We went to some awesome locations and got some great shots. I have to say I was particularly excited about this shoot because of Paige's choice of outfits! The blue dress in the first shoot was so "her" and I was really glad to shoot her in her point shoes. This little girl is a beauty! I had such a fun time with little Morgan, and her mom Laura on Tuesday morning for their 'quick frames' session. Morgan is such a happy little girl, I think I maybe heard one or two little whimpers the whole time. She was all smiles for the camera! I have had this idea of sitting a little girl in a flower pot with this cute hat that I got at the beauty salon. Morgan fit the role perfect, and she couldn't have did any better.

This past weekend I traveled to New Jersey to stay with my family and to shoot an e-session for my cousin and her fiance. It has always been a dream of mine to go into the big apple to take pictures, so we took a day and drove to Brooklyn & Manhattan for the engagement shoot. We had an amazing time scouting out spots to get some stylish, fresh modern shots, while sight seeing. April and Sam are such a fun loving couple and are always making each other laugh. Their true love for each other really portrays itself in these images.

I have been to the city before, and it is always so exciting to go back. I have to say, we got some AMAZING shots! April and Sam, thank you for taking us around, I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks!

Today was a beautiful, non-sticky day to take pictures! I did a pre-senior session for Kate before the wheat is harvested and the lilies die. We had a lot of fun with Kate's outfits and all of her jewelry. First Blog

Wow! I'm blogging. I never thought I would blog, but I have come to the realization that it is important to document my life. I don't have a lot going on other than getting things around to start promoting my new business. For the photography side of my business, I have to get some lighting and finish some things up where I will be holding the studio. I am very excited to start this new chapter of my life and very happy to have some great clients already! You know who you are. Also, I never thought that there would be so many choices to make..where to send my images (there's hundreds of places), where to order framing/matting, what type of lenses do I use, what type of backgrounds/props do I start with, what kind of lighting do I get, etc. Jeeze! You get the drift. Anyways, I will be posting sneak peaks of sessions on here as well as new projects. As for the images they are copyrighted and are not to be printed or used for anything unless noted otherwise by the photographer (me :) ). Although, I am going to allow the images to be used on Facebook, MySpace, etc. for a display picture. It is 4:00 already and I have to run a few errands to finish up my day.
